This recipe can be taken as breakfast or lunch item. My kid loves this recipe a lot.

- 2cup rice
- 1cup toor dal
- 1 onion long slice
- 5-6 garlics
- 1tsp ginger garlic paste
- 2 green chillies long sliced
- 1tsp dhaniya powder
- pinch of turmeric powder
- curry leaves
- mustard and cumin seeds
- oil
- 1/2 tsp ghee
- salt
- soak rice and toordal for half an hour.
- take 1tsp oil,1/2 tsp ghee in a pan,and mustard,cumin seed,onion,green chillies saute it a min. add ginger garlic paste and garlic cloves again saute for a min.add curry leaves.
- For one cup of rice add 2 and 1/2 cup water,dont take for toor dal measurement.
- Add soaked rice and dal,add dhaniya powder,turmeric and salt.cook for 20min.
- Dal rice is ready to eat. It can be taken with coconut chutney or peanut chutney or raita.
