tomato rasam

  • Tomato-2
  • tamarind(small lemon size)
  • turmeric (pinch)
  • 1tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2tsp red chilli powder
  • jaggery(lemon size)
  • curry leaves
  • 3-4 garlic cloves
  • 2 split red chillies
  • mustard seeds
  • cumin seeds
  • coriander leaves
  1. soak tamarind for 2mins in water,after 2min add tomatoes squeeze it well so that it will turn into paste. otherwise you can cook tamarind and tomato then squeeze like a passte.
  2. add turmeric,red chilli,coriander powder,jaggery,salt, coriander leaves,salt.put it on stove let it cook till it comes to boiling stage.You can add rasam powder also if you wish. But no need to add rasam powder.
  3. take another pan for tadka add 1tsp oil,then mustard and cumin seeds,garlic cloves,red chilli,curry leaves.add this to  boiling rasam. The delicious rasam is ready,it is so good in taste. Every night for dinner rasam is necessary in our home.
Note: by placing the coriander leaves in the initial stage it will add aroma and extra taste to the rasam recipe.
