mustard pulihora(aava pulihora)

this recipe is sravanamasam special.you can make is as prasadam.it is specially served in temples.
i love this recipe a lot. for those who are doing vrathas and puja it is a very delicious and tasty recipe which can be served to our goddess lakshmi.

Ingrediants:
  • 200gm boiled rice
  • 1/2cup mustard seeds
  • 1/2cup khus khus
  • 1tsp grated coconut
  • 1tsp cumin seeds
  • 1tsp urad dal
  • 1tsp chanadal
  • 1tsp peanuts
  • 1cup tamarind pulp
  • 4dry red chillies
  • 4green chillies
  • turmeric
  • 8curry leaves
Preparation:
  1. take a pan add mustard seeds,khus khus,coconut,2 red chillies and fry it will.
  2. put all the ingrediants in a blender and blen it will to make a fine powder..
  3. add 1/2 cup of oil add remaining mustard seeds,cumin seeds,urad dal,chanadal,peanuts,split dry red chillies,curry leaves,long split green chilies,turmeric and fry it well.
  4. now add tamarind pulp and cook until the oil floats on top.
  5. cool the boiled rice and add this,mix well with hand,and powder ,and salt also,
  6. you can add salt while making tadka also.
  7. aava pulihora is ready to eat.

vegetable kurma

Ingrediants:
  • 1big potato
  • 1carrot
  • 4beans
  • 1/2cup peas
  • 1onion
  • 1tomato
  • 1tsp red chilli powder
  • 1tsp dhaniya powder
  • 1tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/2cup grated dry coconut
  • 1/2cup khus khus
  • 6 cashew nuts
  • 1/2tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2tsp cumin seeds
  • pinch turmeric
  • 8curry leaves
  • oil
Preparation:

  1. peel off the outer layer of potato,carrot and cut into small pieces. cut beans also into small pieces. and onion cut into long slices,tomato also into small pieces.
  2. take a pan,add 4tsp of oil,add mustard seeds,cumin seeds,curry leaves,onion pieces,saute it well.. when onion turn golden brown then add all vegetable pieces and fry for 5min,
  3. in the mean time make masala paste by putting,grated coconut,cashew nuts,khus khus,1green chilli in a blender,blend and make like a fine paste.
  4. add this paste to fried vegetables,add turmeric,fry for another 5min,until the raw smell of paste goes out.
  5. then add red chilli,coriander powder,salt and add 1cup of water cook it for 10min.
  6. when all the vegetables get cooked well add garam masala powder,cook for 2min then switch off the stove.
  7. vegetable kurma is ready to eat.
  8. it can be taken with rice and chapati.
