Dal rice

This recipe can be taken as breakfast or lunch item. My kid loves this recipe a lot.

Ingrediants:
  • 2cup rice
  • 1cup toor dal
  • 1 onion long slice
  • 5-6 garlics
  • 1tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 green chillies long sliced
  • 1tsp dhaniya powder
  • pinch of turmeric powder
  • curry leaves
  • mustard and cumin seeds
  • oil
  • 1/2 tsp ghee
  • salt
Preparation:

  1. soak rice and toordal for half an hour.
  2. take 1tsp oil,1/2 tsp ghee in a  pan,and mustard,cumin seed,onion,green chillies saute it a min. add ginger garlic paste and garlic cloves again saute for a min.add curry leaves.
  3. For one cup of rice add 2 and 1/2 cup water,dont take for toor dal measurement.
  4. Add soaked rice and dal,add dhaniya powder,turmeric and salt.cook for 20min.
  5. Dal rice is ready to eat. It can be taken with coconut chutney or peanut chutney or raita.
